Kieron Quirke is an English TV writer and director based in London and Los Angeles. He is best known for co-creating the long-running BBC sitcom Cuckoo (five series, BBC Three/BBC One) with Robin French, and for creating and writing the BBC sitcom Defending the Guilty (2018). He has also co-written This England (Sky Atlantic, 2022) with director Michael Winterbottom, a five-part drama starring Kenneth Branagh as Boris Johnson. A graduate of Merton College, Oxford (Double First in Classics), he began his career as a theatre critic before breaking through as a television writer.
