John Fischer is the Executive Vice President of Development and Production at Temple Hill Entertainment, the West Hollywood-based production company behind the Twilight, Maze Runner, and Smile franchises. He joined Temple Hill in 2016 and has produced and exec produced a wide range of films including The Hate U Give, Emergency (Sundance Special Jury Prize), Smile 2, Clown in a Cornfield, and The Map That Leads to You. In 2025, Fischer made headlines as a writer when his spec script Crush — written under the pseudonym J.W. Archer and posted on the Black List — was acquired by 20th Century Studios in a heated multi-studio bidding war, while he simultaneously continues to develop upcoming projects including Children of Blood and Bone and The Berenstain Bears.
