About
John Fischer is the Executive Vice President of Development and Production at Temple Hill Entertainment (West Hollywood), the production banner behind the Twilight, Maze Runner, and Smile franchises. He joined Temple Hill in 2016 and has produced and co-produced a wide range of features including The Hate U Give, Emergency (Sundance Special Jury Prize winner), Smile 2, Clown in a Cornfield, and The Map That Leads to You. In 2025, Fischer made waves as a writer when his spec script Crush — penned under the pseudonym J.W. Archer and posted on the Black List — sold to 20th Century Studios in a heated multi-studio bidding war; director Julius Avery was attached in July 2026. His upcoming producer credits include Children of Blood and Bone (Paramount, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood), Monitor, The Berenstain Bears, and the Crush film itself.
