Deon Taylor is a self-taught American filmmaker, writer, director, and producer, best known for genre-bending horror and thriller films including Fatale (Lionsgate), The Intruder (Screen Gems/Sony), Black and Blue (Sony), and the Meet the Blacks franchise. A former professional basketball player from Gary, Indiana, Taylor co-founded Hidden Empire Film Group (HEFG) in 2007 with his wife Roxanne Avent Taylor and investor Robert F. Smith, building it into a multi-dimensional independent studio with production, distribution, and marketing arms. He is currently in pre-production on the horror film Don't Open the Door (with Confluential Films) and the true-story drama Tink for Limitless Films, while also developing a Blacula reboot for Amazon MGM Studios.
