Deon Taylor is a self-taught American filmmaker, writer, director, and producer specializing in genre-bending horror and thriller films. Born in Chicago and raised in Gary, Indiana and Sacramento, California, he is Co-CEO of Hidden Empire Film Group (HEFG), the multi-dimensional independent studio he co-founded with his wife Roxanne Avent Taylor, whose cumulative film slate has grossed more than $300 million worldwide. His studio credits include Fatale (Lionsgate), The Intruder (Screen Gems/Sony), Black and Blue (Sony), and the Meet the Blacks franchise. A former professional basketball player and San Diego State University alumnus, Taylor is currently developing the Blacula reboot for Amazon MGM Studios, the true-story drama Tink for Limitless Films, and a biopic on streetball star Grayson 'The Professor' Boucher for Hidden Empire Sports Collective.
