Damián Szifron is an Argentine film and television writer-director born on July 9, 1975 in Ramos Mejía, Buenos Aires, best known for creating the landmark TV series Los Simuladores (2002) and writing and directing Wild Tales (Relatos Salvajes, 2014), which became the most successful film in Argentine history, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, a BAFTA win, and a Palme d'Or nomination at Cannes. He made his English-language debut with To Catch a Killer (2023), starring Shailene Woodley and Ben Mendelsohn. As of April 2026, he is in active production on El Sobrino, a Netflix dramedy starring Leonardo Sbaraglia, shooting in Ramos Mejía, Buenos Aires.
