About
Colin Minihan is a Canadian-American writer-director-producer best known for co-creating the cult found-footage horror franchise Grave Encounters (2011) under the collaborative moniker 'The Vicious Brothers' alongside Stuart Ortiz. As a solo filmmaker, he wrote, directed, and edited the SXSW breakout thriller What Keeps You Alive (2018), a New York Times Critics' Pick that reached the Netflix US top 10, and directed It Stains the Sands Red (2016), winner of the Midnight Extreme Award at the Sitges International Film Festival. He is the founder and president of the independent production and VFX company Digital Interference, behind Shudder Originals Z and Spiral, and most recently directed the comedy-horror thriller Coyotes (2025), starring Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, which premiered at Fantastic Fest.
