About
Charles F. 'Chad' Stahelski (born September 20, 1968, Palmer, Massachusetts) is an American stuntman-turned-filmmaker widely regarded as one of the most influential action directors working today. A University of Southern California alumnus and former Jeet Kune Do instructor under Dan Inosanto, he co-founded 87Eleven Entertainment in 1997 with David Leitch and Damon Caro, rising to prominence as Keanu Reeves' stunt double on The Matrix (1999) before making his feature directorial debut with John Wick (2014) — a franchise he solo-directed across four installments and which became a billion-dollar global phenomenon. In February 2024, Lionsgate appointed him to oversee both the John Wick and Highlander franchises across film, TV, and all multimedia platforms; he holds a concurrent multi-year first-look production deal with Lionsgate through 87Eleven Entertainment, and is actively developing Highlander (starring Henry Cavill, now at Amazon MGM/United Artists), Ghost of Tsushima (Sony/PlayStation), Rainbow Six (starring Michael B. Jordan), Sifu (Netflix), Sentinel, Spellslinger, and several other projects.
