Brett Ratner (born March 28, 1969, Miami Beach, Florida) is an American film director and producer whose feature films have grossed over $2 billion at the global box office, best known for directing the Rush Hour franchise (1998–2007), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Red Dragon (2002), Tower Heist (2011), and Hercules (2014). He co-founded RatPac Entertainment in 2012 with James Packer, a production and finance company that co-financed over 81 theatrically released films totaling more than $17 billion in worldwide box office receipts and earning 52 Academy Award nominations. Following a career hiatus after sexual misconduct allegations in 2017 (all denied), Ratner returned to directing with the documentary Melania (2026, Amazon MGM Studios), and is actively developing Rush Hour 4 for Paramount, having traveled to China for location scouting in May 2026 alongside President Trump's trade delegation. He emigrated to Israel in September 2023.
