Brett Ratner (born March 28, 1969, Miami Beach, Florida) is an American film director and producer whose films have grossed over $2 billion at the global box office. He rose to prominence with the blockbuster Rush Hour franchise (1998–2007) and went on to direct The Family Man, Red Dragon, X-Men: The Last Stand, Tower Heist, and Hercules, while co-founding RatPac Entertainment in 2013 with James Packer, a film finance company that co-financed over 80 theatrically released films. After a career hiatus following sexual misconduct allegations in 2017, Ratner returned to directing with the Melania Trump documentary (2026, Amazon MGM Studios) and is currently in pre-production on Rush Hour 4 for Paramount distribution.
