William Van Duzer Lawrence IV (born December 26, 1968, Ridgefield, Connecticut) is one of television's most prolific comedy creator-showrunners, best known for creating Scrubs and co-creating Spin City, Clone High, Cougar Town, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Rooster. His production company, Doozer Productions, operates under a nine-figure overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group through 2028. In 2025, he was honored with the WGA East's Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence. In 2026, he is actively shepherding Rooster (HBO, renewed for Season 2 starring Steve Carell), Shrinking Season 3 (Apple TV+), a Scrubs revival at ABC, and Ted Lasso Season 4.
