Ali Afshar is an Iranian-American actor, producer, and former professional race car driver, raised in Petaluma, Sonoma County, California. He is the founder and president of ESX Entertainment, a prolific indie film and TV production company headquartered on the Warner Bros. lot, known for producing streaming hits for Netflix and HBO Max including 'A California Christmas' (which reached #1 worldwide on Netflix) and multiple holiday originals. In 2024–2025, ESX expanded into horror with 'Curse of the Necklace' and the neo-western 'Day of Reckoning,' which reached #1 on HBO Max globally; Afshar's most anticipated current project is 'Wind of Change,' a Scorpions biopic in post-production targeting a 2026 release.
