Wilshire Ebell Theatre / Ebell of Los AngelesFollow

The Ebell of Los Angeles is a historic women-led and women-centered nonprofit founded in 1894, housed on a 75,000-square-foot Italian Renaissance campus in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood of Los Angeles. Its campus includes numerous performance spaces, meeting rooms, classrooms, and the 1,238-seat Wilshire Ebell Theatre — the oldest theatre in the nation built by and still operated by women. The organization's mission is to inspire women and build community through arts, culture, education, and service, while stewarding its historic campus and collections, which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Los Angeles Cultural Monument. The venue hosts concerts, film premieres, theatrical productions, red carpet award shows, weddings, and private events, with all profits supporting building preservation and programming.
