Village Roadshow

Village Roadshow Pty Ltd is an Australian entertainment conglomerate founded in 1954 by Roc Kirby, operating across theme parks, cinema exhibition, film distribution, film production, and marketing solutions. The company's key businesses include Village Roadshow Theme Parks (Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World), Village Cinemas, Roadshow Films (film distribution), Village Roadshow Studios (the largest studio lot in the Southern Hemisphere), and Opia (marketing solutions). Taken private by BGH Capital in December 2020, it employs over 5,000 people across Australia. Note: the US subsidiary Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025 and had its film library sold to Alcon Entertainment for $417.5 million in June 2025; the Australian parent has publicly stated it has had no control over VREG since 2017.
