Theatro LATEA

Teatro LATEA (Latin American Theater Experiment Associates) is a Latino nonprofit performing arts theater company and cultural institution located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, housed within The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center at 107 Suffolk Street. Founded in 1982, LATEA promotes and produces Latino performing arts through three core programs: LATEA STAGE (theater), LATEA SCREEN (new media and film festivals), and LATEA MUSIC (Latin jazz, Afro-Caribbean and South American music). The organization also operates LATEA/Remoto, a live-streaming and recording initiative that transforms its 74-seat stage into a film set for producing original Latinx content online, supported by the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
