TheaterWorksUSA (TWUSA) is a professional, not-for-profit theatre company founded in 1961 by Jay Harnick and Charles Hull, dedicated to creating exceptional, transformative theatrical experiences for young and family audiences throughout New York City and North America. The company produces literature- and history-based plays and musicals that tour to nearly 500 cities across 49 states and parts of Canada, reaching over 1.2 million children, educators, and families annually and more than 100 million cumulatively since founding. TWUSA is also well known for its annual Free Summer Theatre program in New York City, distributing up to 30,000 free tickets yearly, and for developing original new works including notable productions such as The Lightning Thief Musical, Dog Man: The Musical, and Cat Kid Comic Club: The Musical.
