The Tank NYC

The Tank is a Manhattan-based nonprofit, multi-disciplinary arts presenter and producer founded in 2003, dedicated to removing economic barriers for emerging artists across theater, comedy, dance, film, music, puppetry, and storytelling. Operating from a two-theater complex on 36th Street (a 56-seat black box and a 98-seat proscenium) plus five rehearsal studios, The Tank serves over 2,500 artists annually, presents over 1,000 performances, and welcomes approximately 36,000 audience members per year. The organization is Off-Off-Broadway and provides free venue use, rehearsal space, marketing, publicity, and general management services to presenting artists, and fully produces a curated season of 13–18 theatrical world or New York premieres each season. The Tank received an Obie Award in 2020 for its support of emerging artists and has had multiple Drama Desk Award nominations.
