The District

The District is a Los Angeles-based film and television production company founded on June 24, 2014 by director Ruben Fleischer and producer David Bernad, initially under an overall deal at Universal Television. The company is best known for executive producing NBC's long-running workplace comedy Superstore (2015–2021), Freeform's The Bold Type (2017–2021), ABC's Stumptown (2019–2020), and contributing to HBO's The White Lotus and White House Plumbers. Co-founder David Bernad departed circa 2023 to launch Middle Child Pictures; Ruben Fleischer has continued producing under The District banner, most recently serving as executive producer on NBC's St. Denis Medical (2024–present).
