About

TECARAT (テカラ) is a stop-motion animation studio established in 2015 as an in-house division of TAIYO KIKAKU Co., Ltd., a major Japanese advertising production company. Led by chief director Takeshi Yashiro and chief producer Masaaki Oikawa, TECARAT specializes in handcrafted puppet stop-motion animation, advertising-related video production, and original content creation using wood-carved puppets and detailed set design. The studio is internationally recognized for acclaimed works including GON, THE LITTLE FOX and the stop-motion samurai pilot film HIDARI, and operates with a small team philosophy where members handle all aspects of production from puppet carving to animation and cinematography. Its name derives from the Japanese phrase 'te kara' meaning 'from hands,' reflecting its core philosophy of hands-on craftsmanship.
