STX Entertainment (legally STX Financing, LLC) is an American independent entertainment and media company founded in March 2014, headquartered in Burbank, California, that develops, produces, markets, and distributes film, television, and digital media content. Known for star-driven, mid-budget films including Hustlers, Bad Moms, The Upside, Molly's Game, The Gentlemen, and the Greenland franchise, the studio has positioned itself as a next-generation mini-major. In January 2026, following a sale to Crown Productions — the film financing subsidiary of insurance platform A-CAP — STX relaunched under new CEO Peter Coleman with a refocused strategy targeting quality films budgeted up to $20 million, with plans to resume domestic distribution operations.
