Right of Way Films

Right of Way Films is the West Hollywood-based production company of Canadian-American filmmaker Jason Reitman (son of Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman), founded in 2009 after Reitman shuttered his prior banner Hard C Productions. The company serves primarily as a vehicle for Reitman to develop and direct character-driven, prestige independent films. It is responsible for acclaimed projects including Up in the Air (2009), Young Adult (2011), Whiplash (2014), Tully (2018), and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). The company operated for many years with a development partnership with Indian Paintbrush, the financing entity headed by billionaire Steven Rales.
