About
Red Czarina Entertainment is a Winnipeg-based independent Canadian production company founded in May 2012 by four female filmmakers — Danishka Esterhazy, Rebecca Gibson, Ashley Hirt, and Rebecca Sandulak — with a mandate to produce female-driven films, theatre, and new media projects. The company is known for producing the award-winning feature H&G (a modern retelling of Hansel and Gretel that premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and was acquired by Amazon Prime), as well as the short films The Singing Bones and Q&A. Red Czarina has received development funding from the Rogers Development Fund, the Manitoba Arts Council, Super Channel, and Telefilm Canada.
