About

Orphan Andy Films is a Los Angeles-based independent film and television production company founded in early 2026 by award-winning writer-director-producer Daniel Talbott (The Conners, Midday Black Midnight Blue). Named after the iconic Orphan Andy's diner in San Francisco's Castro district, the company specializes in queer film and television across all genres, with a particular emphasis on rural, working-class, and global LGBTQ+ stories rooted in a queercore filmmaking ethos. Operating with an indie DIY philosophy, the company actively partners with producers and companies worldwide — including international co-productions — to help queer filmmakers tell their stories, with projects screening at major festivals including Cannes 2026.
