New Deal Productions

New Deal Productions is the Los Angeles-based production company founded by the late director and producer John Singleton, best known for co-creating the FX series Snowfall and directing films including Boyz N the Hood, Poetic Justice, Shaft, Baby Boy, and Four Brothers. Singleton was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay for Boyz N the Hood at age 24, making him the first African-American and youngest person ever nominated for Best Director. Following Singleton's death in April 2019, the company — valued at approximately $3.2 million — became part of his estate, which was settled among his seven children.
