MOIN Film Fund

MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein (MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein GmbH) is the central public film funding institution for the German states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, founded in 2007 through the merger of FilmFörderung Hamburg GmbH and MSH – Gesellschaft zur Förderung audiovisueller Werke in Schleswig-Holstein, and rebranded as MOIN in 2021. With an annual budget of approximately €22 million (as of 2025–2026), it supports cinema films, high-end series, short films, and innovative audiovisual formats across all genres — from first draft through production, distribution, and festival presentation. The fund's shareholders are the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the State of Schleswig-Holstein, with additional contributions from broadcasters NDR and ZDF. MOIN also operates the Film Commission Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein (with offices in Hamburg and Kiel), holds a stake in Filmfest Hamburg GmbH, and runs the NEST development platform for emerging and established filmmakers.
