MMC Joule Films is an independent film development and production company founded in 2008 by producer Sally Jo Effenson, with roots in Texas. The company is best known for producing the critically acclaimed Netflix drama 'Mudbound' (2017), directed by Dee Rees and acquired by Netflix at Sundance for $12.5 million. Their debut feature was 'Hide Away' (2012), starring Josh Lucas, James Cromwell, and Ayelet Zurer, directed by Chris Eyre.
