Madrid City Council

Madrid Film Office is a public service of the Madrid City Council (Ayuntamiento de Madrid) whose mission is to promote the city as a filming destination, assist production companies and professionals who choose Madrid for their projects, support the local audiovisual sector, and stimulate local investment and development. The office collaborates from the pre-production phase, facilitating location scouting, advising on permits, and providing support throughout audiovisual projects. In 2025, the City of Madrid processed 11,001 filming permit applications via its Filming Authorizations Bureau, while the film office provided over 4,115 specific assistance services — a ~7% year-over-year increase. Madrid hosted 71 films, 52 TV series, and more than 410 commercials in 2025, consolidating its position as a leading European production hub.
