Lion Rock Productions

Lion Rock Productions is a Los Angeles-based film production company founded by acclaimed Hong Kong-American director John Woo and his longtime producing partner Terence Chang. The company produced a slate of action and drama features spanning Hollywood and Asian cinema, including The Big Hit (1998), Bulletproof Monk (2003), Red Cliff (2008/2009), and The Crossing (2014/2015). Following the commercial disappointment of The Crossing, Woo and Chang disbanded the company, though it remains registered as a California corporation at its Goldleaf Circle address. Lion Rock was closely associated with action and heroic bloodshed genre films, particularly those bridging Hollywood and Chinese/Hong Kong cinema.
