About

The Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater is a 299-seat Off-Broadway thrust-stage venue located in the lower level of the Vivian Beaumont Theater building at Lincoln Center in New York City. Originally opened as 'The Forum' on November 10, 1967, it was renamed in 1973 in honor of New York philanthropist Mitzi E. Newhouse. Operated by the nonprofit Lincoln Center Theater (LCT), the Newhouse is the primary venue for LCT's Off-Broadway productions, sharing the Lincoln Center campus with the Broadway-class Vivian Beaumont Theater and the Off-Broadway Claire Tow Theater. As of the 2025-2026 season, LCT is led by Kewsong Lee Artistic Director Lear deBessonet, Managing Director Mike Schleifer, and Executive Producer Bartlett Sher.
