Hyperobject Industries

Hyperobject Industries is a Los Angeles-based multi-platform film, television, documentary, and podcast production company founded in October 2019 by Academy Award-winning writer, director, and producer Adam McKay. The company takes its name from philosopher Timothy Morton's concept of 'hyperobjects' — vast forces such as climate change and global capitalism that shape our lives yet defy easy comprehension — and focuses on socially, politically, and environmentally charged storytelling across scripted, unscripted, and audio formats. Notable productions include Don't Look Up (Netflix), The Menu (Searchlight), Succession (HBO), Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (HBO), and the HBO series The Chair Company (2025). The company has held first-look deals with HBO, Paramount Pictures, and Apple TV+, and is currently represented by CAA.
