Home Box Office (HBO) is an American premium cable television network and the flagship property of Home Box Office, Inc., a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. Founded in 1972 and one of the oldest subscription TV services in the United States, HBO is renowned for groundbreaking original series, documentaries, and theatrical films, and currently operates six 24-hour linear multiplex channels (including HBO Family, HBO Comedy, and HBO Latino) alongside its HBO On Demand platform. HBO's content is also the centerpiece of Max (formerly HBO Max), the expanded streaming platform operated under shared management, available in more than 100 global markets. Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys, HBO has consistently led all networks and streaming platforms in Emmy nominations and wins, with landmark originals including Succession, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Euphoria, and House of the Dragon.
