Founded by comedian and actor Kevin Hart, Hartbeat (formerly Hartbeat Productions) is a global, multi-platform entertainment company operating at the intersection of comedy and culture with a mission to keep the world laughing together. The company was formed in 2022 by merging Hart's two existing entities — Hartbeat Productions and Laugh Out Loud — backed by a $100 million investment from Abry Partners at a ~$650 million valuation. Hartbeat operates through three divisions: Hartbeat Studios (film & TV production and financing), Hartbeat Media (distribution via LOL! Network and live experiences), and PULSE (a branded content and creative consultancy). The company has faced significant leadership turnover and workforce reductions since 2023, with Kevin Hart personally resuming the CEO role in January 2025.
