Hammer Film Productions Ltd. (trading as Hammer Films) is a legendary British production company founded in 1934, best known worldwide for its Gothic horror films produced from the mid-1950s through the 1970s, featuring iconic characters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Mummy. After several decades of dormancy, the company was revived in 2007 and acquired in August 2023 by theatre mogul John Gore (John Gore Organization), who serves as CEO and Chairman and is steering a new era of horror productions and premium home entertainment releases. Under its current incarnation as Hammer Film Holdings Limited, the studio also operates a direct-to-consumer e-commerce business selling collector's edition physical media, soundtracks, apparel, and publishing titles tied to its vast archive.
