First Love Films

First Love Films is a Toronto-based Canadian film and television production company co-founded in 2012 by Laura Perlmutter and Andrew Nicholas McCann Smith, with a mandate to create exceptional screen-based content regardless of platform. The award-winning company has screened work at Sundance, TIFF, Locarno, Tribeca, and AFI, and has earned accolades including a Canadian Screen Award, the Grand Prix at Clermont-Ferrand, and the Locarno Jury Prize. Their notable productions include the Shudder documentary series Cursed Films, the CBC/CW samurai webseries Warigami, the horror co-production The Dark (with Austria's DOR Films), and the streaming series Riftworld Chronicles and Cold.
