Film4 Productions is the feature film division of Channel 4 Television Corporation, a publicly owned but commercially funded British broadcaster. Founded in 1982 as Channel Four Films, the company develops and co-finances bold, original work from distinctive voices in UK and international cinema, supporting both emerging and established filmmakers. Film4-backed films have collectively won 43 Oscars and 97 BAFTAs, with recent titles including Poor Things, The Zone of Interest, The Banshees of Inisherin, and How to Have Sex. It is widely regarded as the most important source of development funding for film in the UK outside of Hollywood studios, investing approximately £25 million annually.
