About

The Electric Shadow Company (ESC) is a London-based independent commissioning producer, founded in 2008 by John Jencks and Jay Taylor, that develops, finances, and produces feature films, TV series, and documentaries for global audiences. The company is known for commercially ambitious British productions including Guns Akimbo, The Crow (2024), Boiling Point, The Hippopotamus, and the documentary Name Me Lawand. ESC operates as both a production and financing entity, with a track record of co-producing and executive producing internationally distributed genre and prestige films, and has recently refocused on in-house development and acquiring UK rights to its projects.
