Dream Up Theatre Festival

The Dream Up Festival is an annual summer theatre festival presented by Theater for the New City (TNC), held each year from late August through mid-September at TNC's venue at 155 First Avenue in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Founded in 2010, the festival is dedicated exclusively to new and world premiere works — plays, dance theater, solo performances, and interdisciplinary pieces — from US and international artists, with its motto 'Dream Up: Invent, Concoct.' The festival is curated by TNC's Literary Manager, Michael Scott-Price, and operates under the executive artistic direction of Crystal Field; it is one of New York City's preeminent new works showcases, having grown from 25 shows in its inaugural year to regularly featuring 15–25+ productions per edition.
