Death Row Records

Death Row Records is a legendary American hip-hop record label founded in 1991 in Los Angeles, California by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, The D.O.C., and Dick Griffey. The label became one of the most commercially successful and culturally impactful record labels in history, catapulting West Coast gangsta rap into the mainstream with multi-platinum releases from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac. After filing for bankruptcy in 2006 and changing hands multiple times, rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg acquired the brand from MNRK Music Group (Blackstone-controlled) in February 2022 and revived the label, signing new artists and returning the classic catalog to streaming services in 2023.
