Cineart

Cinéart is a leading independent film distribution company operating across the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), founded in 1975 by the late Eliane Dubois. The company distributes theatrical, home video, TV, and VOD rights for arthouse and quality independent films, with a celebrated catalogue spanning Palme d'Or winners, Oscar contenders, and films by directors such as the Dardenne Brothers, Ken Loach, Pedro Almodóvar, and Michael Haneke. In February 2024, global arthouse streamer MUBI acquired a majority stake in the company, while co-CEOs Marc Smit (Amsterdam) and Stephan De Potter (Brussels) remained significant shareholders and continued to lead operations. Cinéart also co-invests in film development through a joint venture ('Curzon CM') with Curzon (UK) and Madman Entertainment (Australia).
