Channel 4 Television

Channel Four Television Corporation is a British publicly owned, commercially self-funded public service broadcaster that has operated the Channel 4 television network since 2 November 1982. Funded entirely through advertising and commercial activities — not public funding — it is mandated to champion unheard voices, take bold creative risks, and support the UK's independent production sector. Operating a portfolio of channels including E4, Film4, and More4, as well as the streaming service Channel 4, it is undergoing a major digital-first transformation with a goal of becoming a genuine digital-first public service streamer by 2030, including a phased move into in-house production enabled by the UK's Media Act 2024.
