Calamity Films

Calamity Films is an award-winning independent film and television production company founded in 2013 by David Livingstone, formerly Head of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution at Working Title Films. The company produces bold, ambitious, and commercially successful scripted television and film for the UK and international markets. Known for acclaimed projects including Pride (Cannes Queer Palm winner), Judy (Academy Award winner for Best Actress), Last Christmas (over $120 million worldwide box office), and Brassic (Sky's most successful scripted comedy series to date). In December 2025, Avalon — the UK's largest independent production company — acquired a stake in Calamity Films.
