About

Bungalow 78 Productions is an American television and film production company founded in 1987 by producer-writer Barry Kemp, best known for creating the hit sitcoms Newhart and Coach. The company is named after the bungalow on the Universal Studios lot that served as its original headquarters. Its notable credits include Coach (ABC, 1989–1997), Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997), and Patch Adams (1998). The company remains active, with Kemp currently producing both a Romy and Michele sequel feature (expected 2027) and the Off-Broadway musical adaptation Romy and Michele: The Musical (Stage 42, NYC, opening October 2025).
