About

The Austrian Television Fund (Fernsehfonds Austria) is a government-established funding agency for television productions in Austria, set up within RTR Media under the KommAustria Act (KOG). It provides subsidies for the production and commercial exploitation of television films, documentaries, and series by independent Austrian film producers, with an annual budget of €13.5 million drawn from broadcasting fee revenues. The Fund's objectives include improving the quality of Austrian TV productions, attracting international co-productions, and strengthening Austria's audiovisual sector within Europe. Funding decisions are made by RTR's Managing Director after consultation with the Review Board.
