About
Arcane Pictures was a London-based independent film production company co-founded by George Duffield and Meg Thomson, with a mission to produce powerful, intelligent, and commercially ambitious films. The company was particularly known for its socially impactful documentary work, most notably 'The End of the Line' (2009), a landmark environmental documentary about overfishing that won the Puma Creative Impact Award, and the IMAX 3D documentary 'Jerusalem' (2013), co-produced with Cosmic Picture and narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Arcane also produced narrative features including 'Dot the I' (2003), starring Gael García Bernal, which premiered at Sundance and won the Deauville Audience Award. The company was formally incorporated in 1998 and dissolved in March 2016.
