The American Theatre of Actors (A.T.A.) is a nonprofit Off-Off-Broadway repertory theatre company founded in 1976 by James Jennings, located at 314 W. 54th Street in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District. Its mission is to promote the development of new playwrights, directors, and actors by providing a creative atmosphere free from the pressures of commercial theatre. The complex hosts four performance spaces — the Cullum Theatre, Sargent Theatre, Beckmann Theatre, and A.T.A. Co. Space — and has presented over 2,000 new works with more than 12,000 actors having worked there, including early career appearances by Dennis Quaid, Bruce Willis, Edie Falco, and Kathryn Hahn.
