Founded in 1972, the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is the premier arts service and advocacy organization for New York City's nonprofit theatre community, supporting over 500 member theatres through funding, training, subsidized space, and professional development. The organization operates 40 offices, 16 studio spaces, and two state-of-the-art performance venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn, providing space to over 1,000 unique renters annually.
