About

New Georges is an Obie Award-winning not-for-profit Off-Broadway theater company founded in 1992 and based in New York City, dedicated to developing and producing new work by women, trans, and non-binary artists. The company operates across two tiers — theater projects (productions) and an artist platform (development programs) — and has premiered over 100 new plays while supporting the largest ongoing working community of women theater artists in New York City. Widely recognized as a national incubator for adventurous theatrical voices, New Georges is known for co-productions with leading downtown and regional companies such as Clubbed Thumb, The Bushwick Starr, Rattlestick Theater, and The Public Theater. Alumni have gone on to prominent careers in theater, film, television, and arts education.
