James E. Ward is a retired Office of Inspector General (OIG) Special Agent in Charge with more than 34 years of law enforcement and executive leadership experience. Throughout his career, he directed complex criminal investigations involving public corruption, financial crimes, international smuggling, terrorism, and national security while leading multidisciplinary investigative teams across the southeastern United States. Following his retirement, Ward founded Executive Investigations and Consulting, LLC, where he provides investigative, intelligence, and strategic consulting services to public-and private-sector clients. He has also served as a technical advisor for television productions law enforcement TV series, helping bring authentic federal investigative procedures to the screen. Ward is the author of the memoir The Special Agent in Charge and the creator of the political thriller television series OIG Chronicles – Shadows of Justice, drawing upon decades of real-world experience overseeing some of the nation's most sensitive investigations.
