DVA Media + Marketing (formerly The DuVernay Agency) is an award-winning entertainment/lifestyle public relations and marketing firm founded in 1999 by filmmaker Ava DuVernay. The agency developed and executed publicity campaigns for film, television, home video, consumer products, new media, and events, crafting strategic campaigns targeting mainstream, ethnic, and niche media. Its client roster included major studios such as Warner Bros. and HBO, and it provided strategy and execution for over 100 film and television projects for directors including Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, and Michael Mann. DuVernay closed the agency in 2011 to focus full-time on filmmaking and her distribution collective ARRAY; the company is considered dormant/inactive.
