ARD Degeto

ARD Degeto Film GmbH is a 100%-owned subsidiary of ARD, Germany's public broadcasting consortium, and functions as its central entity for acquiring, commissioning, and co-producing fictional television content — including feature films, TV movies, series, and miniseries — for Das Erste, the ARD regional channels, ARD Mediathek, 3sat, Arte, and ONE. With an annual budget of approximately 400 million euros, the company holds editorial responsibility for roughly 100 fictional productions per year, sourced through national and international commissioned and co-productions as well as license purchases. Founded in 1928, ARD Degeto is one of the most influential content organizations in German-language television and has contributed to internationally acclaimed co-productions including Michael Haneke's Palme d'Or-winning *Amour* and acclaimed series such as *Babylon Berlin* and *Die Zweiflers*.
